Resilient Roses Respite (RRR) is a grassroots 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of youth and young adults in Brockton, Massachusetts. Our mission is to empower young people ages 15 to 24 to build resilience and thrive through holistic wellness, leadership development, and community engagement.
Founded by Coach Bri Nichols, RRR was created in response to the growing need for safe, supportive spaces that nurture both emotional and physical health. As a leader with lived experience, Coach Bri saw that many youth, particularly those from low-income and underserved communities, lacked consistent opportunities to strengthen confidence, develop coping skills, and connect with mentors who believe in their potential.
RRR bridges that gap through Bridging the GAP (Growth, Action, Purpose), a 10-week leadership and wellness program that integrates sports, movement, and emotional wellness practices. Participants build communication skills, learn stress management, and engage in teamwork activities that promote leadership and physical fitness. Each program cycle concludes with a community service project that allows youth to apply what they have learned through acts of service such as food or clothing drives.
Our approach connects wellness with purpose. By blending physical activity, emotional health, and civic responsibility, RRR supports lifelong wellness and reinforces the belief that resilience is built through Growth, Action, and Purpose.
Brockton continues to face significant health and economic inequities, including high rates of poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to enrichment programs. RRR fills these gaps by providing accessible, culturally responsive, and health-centered opportunities that strengthen young people’s sense of belonging and hope.
Through dedicated suppport, community partnerships, and a shared vision for health equity, Resilient Roses Respite is helping Brockton’s youth rise above adversity, discover their strength, and lead with purpose.
Resilient Roses Respite empowers youth and young adults in Brockton to build resilience and thrive through holistic wellness, leadership, and community engagement.
We focus on youth and young adults (15–24) in Brockton, many of whom identify as Black, Cape Verdean, or Hispanic and live in households facing food insecurity or housing instability. Our programming fills critical gaps left by school budget cuts and limited enrichment access.
Bri Nichols founded Resilient Roses Respite (RRR) with a mission rooted in lived experience — transforming personal adversity into collective healing for youth and young adults in Brockton.
As a teen parent who faced homelessness and instability, Bri knows firsthand the barriers that can derail young lives — and the power of mentorship, community, and purpose to rebuild them. Her own journey from unhoused teen to college graduate and nonprofit leader embodies the strength and perseverance RRR strives to instill in every participant.
With a degree in Human Services and years of experience supporting families and at-risk youth, Coach Bri saw a critical gap: young people in her community lacked accessible, health-centered spaces where they could develop leadership, emotional wellness, and life skills together. Out of that vision, she launched Resilient Roses Respite — a grassroots 501(c)(3) organization that empowers youth ages 15–24 to thrive through Growth, Action, and Purpose.
Under her leadership, RRR has become a trusted community partner and catalyst for health equity in Brockton, blending wellness, leadership development, and service learning to help youth strengthen confidence, reduce isolation, and engage in positive health behaviors. Her work has been recognized statewide, including appointments to the Governor’s Transition Committee for Thriving Youth and the Brockton NAACP Phenomenal Woman Award (2024).
As a professional speaker, mentor, and advocate for youth wellness and health equity, Coach Bri uses her story to inspire resilience, proving that adversity can become the foundation for purpose and that every young person, given the right support, can rise and lead.
Her message is clear:
“Resilience isn’t just surviving... it’s growing, acting, and finding purpose. Every young person deserves the chance to do all 3!”
Her leadership has been recognized across Massachusetts, including:
Recipient of the Brockton NAACP Phenomenal Woman Award (2024)
Appointment to the Governor’s Transition Committee for Thriving Youth (2022)
Strategic partnerships with schools and community organizations to expand youth wellness and leadership programming
Through her vision and leadership, RRR continues to bridge the gap between wellness and opportunity, ensuring Brockton’s youth have the tools, community, and courage to thrive.
